Amber Benson bio

Amber Benson is an American actor, singer, writer and producer. Most famously, she is known for her character Tara Maclay on the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer and she has also produced and starred in her own film Chance as well as Lovers Liars & Lunatics. Also, she was a part of the movie Kiss the Bride. Benson was the youngest of children born to Edward Benson and Diane Benson. Benson was born in Birmingham, Alabama on January 1977. She has a younger sister Danielle Benson, who is an artist. Benson, whose father is Jewish as is her mother Southern Baptist was raised in an Alabama Reform synagogue. Benson started appearing in different films like The Killing Jar. Benson was also a part of TV shows like Morganville The Series. In the background Benson also used her talents as a writer to write The Ghosts of Albion television series. In 2010 she directed Drones. Buffy, after spending the time and effort in locating them, claims there are over 1800 Slayers worldwide, with 500 working for their organization, the Scooby Gang.
